That Spreadsheet Guy provides high quality spreadsheets and other templates for everybody around the world, with the mission to spread nerdiness around the world help people with their everyday tasks, get their things organized, and make informed decisions.
Why spreadsheets, you may ask, if similar could be achieved with apps? I have good reasons for that:
- Google Sheets / Docs / Slides is accessible on almost any device
- You can use apps that you (most likely) are already familiar with
- You do not have to create a multitude of accounts
- And most importantly, your information is much more private*
* For example, a personal budget is likely to be more private in a spreadsheet than a free app that makes money by selling your data. How secure your data in Google’s product is up to Google’s policies, but at least they do not get it in a structured format, such as a specialized mobile app would which gets access to your bank account.
How Does It Work?
While you do need to have a Google account to use Google Sheets, using templates from That Spreadsheet Guy is simple:
- Browse the website for templates and add the ones that interest you to the cart
- Right after checkout, you will be presented with links to access the templates. These links will be sent to your email address as well.
- You have 1 week to open the templates and create a copy of them. Click on Files from the menu (top left corner on computers or top right corner on phones) then click on Make a copy and follow the instructions.
- Once you finish creating your copy of the template, it’s ready for usage! Start with the Help sheet to see what you need to do.

Attila is the User Experience Manager of a small Danish company at work but a Google Sheets nerd in the evening. He has a degree in International Sales & Marketing Management from the University of Northern Denmark. He is a self-taught programmer and spreadsheet expert.
The Story
After spending years organizing my life in spreadsheets, I ended up collecting over 30 spreadsheets that I would use on a regular basis. I admit, I might obsess over spreadsheets. But they are so useful!
The most important of these spreadsheets was my budget overview which helped with long-term financial decisions, and I have spent 2 years building it, starting from scratch 4 or 5 times. My wife suggested that this is something that others would benefit from too, so why don’t I start sharing it with the public? This is when I created That Spreadsheet Guy.
