Frequently Asked Questions
Purchasing
Is this a one-time payment?
Yes. You pay once for premium spreadsheets and templates on That Spreadsheet Guy, and it’s yours forever. No monthly or annual subscription fees. Your payment method is not stored for reuse.
Do remember to make a copy of the provided template within 1 week. If you forgot to do that, feel free to contact me at spreadsheets@attilav.net and I will help you out.
How can I pay for a template?
Are free templates really free of charge?
Yes. You will be required to subscribe to the newsletter in order to get access to your spreadsheet, but no payment or billing information is requested from you, therefore, you cannot and will not be charged for the free product, ever.
How will I receive my order?
Links to the templates will be immediately available on the order confirmation page. Shortly after, you will also receive an email containing the same information and links. Please note that must make a copy of the template within 1 week before the link expires. If you forgot to do that, feel free to contact me at spreadsheets@attilav.net and I will help you out.
Compatibility
What are the system requirements?
You need a device that can access Google Sheets (or Google Docs and Google Slides when applicable) and you will need a Google account. This can be done via a web browser (such as Chrome or Safari), on a Chromebook, as well as using Google’s official apps for iPhones and Android phones. The templates, data entry, and charts are all supported on all of these platforms. Please note that certain features (such as sorting columns) may be limited on mobile devices; that being said, That Spreadsheet Guy’s templates are still useable on mobile devices.
Do I need to create an account?
Yes and no. You do not need to create an account at That Spreadsheet Guy but you will need a Google account in order to make a copy of the template.
Are the templates locked or password protected?
No. Since this is not possible in Google Sheets, none of the cells are locked. Though cells that you shouldn’t edit (in order to avoid breaking the template) are protected, and they will warn you if you try to edit them.
Each template has a Help section that describes which cells you are supposed to edit. As a general rule, cells marked with a light yellow background.
Are the templates compatible with Microsoft Excel?
No. These templates are specifically designed for Google Sheets (or Google Docs or Google Slides when applicable). Google Sheets has features that are not compatible with other editor programs (such as the QUERY formula). For this reason, none of the templates have been tested in other programs and are likely to fail or be inaccurate.
